It's a sad day....
Last night we found out our neighbor passed away. Sad thing is it was a week and a half ago on a friday and we didnt even know. last time we spoke with here was monday prior to her passing. we were locked out of our house waiting for the property managment to come with a new key...kiddo had to use the bathroom so I told her to go over to our neighbors house and see if she was home. she was and let her in to do her business. kiddo was there a little bit...chatting with her and was told that she wasnt feeling well. kiddo told her that if she needed anything to call us. Cis was an older lady...not sure exactly how old she was...my guess is 80'ish.
we only found out last night cuz we noticed people moving stuff out of her house, which is split into 2 apartments. she had the lower level. i ask kiddo to go over and check on her to see if she was ok. but as she was walking over i noticed the guys bringing out some bags of stuff and it clicked.,....she died. kiddo came back after the men told her she passed but nothing else. I wanted to know more ....like when this happened and when the service was. hubby went over to talk to the men and they said it was a week ago last friday after going into the hospital the tuesday just before that. i realized that we were going to go and check on her that tuesday (after talking to her monday and her saying she wasnt feeling well) but forgot. now i feel horrible. since we just found out...we missed the service and wake for her...which i hate going to those things but for her i would have make that exception.
she was such a nice lady and always did something extra special for the kids that lived next to her for halloween, christmas, etc. im really going to miss her. again...all i can say about her is how nice she was and how much she enjoyed talking to us when we drove into our driveway when she was sunning herself on warm days.
the other sad thing about all this....she was the one neighbor we actually talk to. so sad.
in other news.....we didnt get chosen for Test the Nation. *sad face*. oh well....im disappointed we didnt neither of us made it. from what I was told...im on a stand by list if someone doesnt accept or cant make the taping. but thats my chance. hubby doesnt even have that. we well have to just keep watching the website to see if we fit into any other catagories for future show.
