Covered in ice.....

Driveway iced over with fallen branches

This is day three for the kids not being in school due to weather. but the worst happened monday night going into yesterday. we had a wicked ice storm hit us and it made a huge mess all around town. hubby come home early monday when the snow changed over to ice...my 5 minute drive turned into 15 minute drive and a few more grey hairs. he was out tuesday due to several power poles snapped and fell along the road his work is on. lots of people here are without power, but we are fine were we are at.

I moved our car up as close to the house as i could because i was worried about the trees that hang over the driveway. Im sure glad i moved it. branches fell during the night right where the car would have been. we were very lucky to have no damage to the car or house.

I took lots of pictures yesterday and today of our yard. still a mess. i managed to move a few of the main branches that were on the driveway so i could move the car in and out. had to wait until late in the day tuesday to do this because the branches were stuck to the ground in a layer of ice ontop of the ice that were already on them.
