I'll have a "green" christmas without you......
Our high outside right now is -5c with just a little bit of flurry action going on. but as the day goes on its going to get warmer according to my trusty weather info to the right over there. by later today they are calling for 15-20mm of rain and a high of 5c....with tomorrows high up to 8c. what the heck? its christmas time in atlantic canada and its spring weather here!
im actually kinda sad that we arent having snow right now. after living here 4 years and this being my 5th winter here i have grown accustom to having a "white" christmas. gone are the days of sunny california winters when i used to wish for a rainy christmas just so it would be pouring rain, cold and icky out so we would be all nice and cozy inside. funny how growing up in california i still had those thoughts. maybe thats why i enjoy my white christmas so much now.
all my shopping is done and wrapped...and i think i have everything we need for food in the house for the weekend since the stores will be closed christmas day and boxing day (i think). i have to work christmas day for 5-6 hours. but i volunteered to work a few hours only for the fact that if i didnt i would have been put on a shift i didnt want. so i dont have to go in until after 6pm that day. not so bad i guess. i think there are only a handful of places open on christmas day and one is ours. some stores are only open from 12-5pm or something like that. but we are open from 1-11pm...weeeee! oh well....its double time and holiday pay. i still have my morning with the kiddo and hubby. we usually dont have much going on later in the day anyway thats why i volunterred for it.
im hoping hubby doesnt read this one **wink wink**. my thought on work christmas night is to bring hubby and kiddo with me and let them hang out with me...help out doing a few things and just be there for me on such a night......yeah and thats going to happen! LOL but kiddo would be up WAY past her bed time and helping out mom...im sure she would love it. lol yeah right.
anyway....im hanging out today doing nothing until i have to go to work tonight for a few hours and then im off tomorrow. we are having our big christmas dinner tomorrow night...roast with onions and pototoes....and a nice lemon pie. nothing fancy since its just the three of us. but im also planning on doing us a nice breakfast tomorrow and also christmas morning.
if i dont pop on here before christmas....which im sure i will. but if i dont....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU! and a comment my daughter said to me the other night...PEACE ON EARTH EVEN FOR ONE DAY. wouldnt that be a christmas miracle?
