wow....3 daily posts in a row....

I wasnt wearing my lucky bingo shirt yesterday.

was finishing up the housework yesterday morning and grocery shopping. hubby was home sick again with his cold. i decided that i was gung ho on putting together a oak printer cart and got started on my task.

was on step 3 when it happened. one of the 3L x 2W boards came straight down on the top of my bare foot. i was in instant pain and a knot started to form as well as bruising within a couple minutes.

we headed to emergency room to make sure i didnt break anything. we spent 3 1/2 hours there waiting to be seen. good news...no broken bones.

say my own doctor this morning and he said that it was the worst but best spot on my foot to have had the wood hit. worst being that the pain and discomfort will probably last a couple weeks as the bone was bruised. also that the bruising of the skin around it will get worse before better (wonderful!). the good about all this....the bone hit the strongest bone in my foot. if it hit an inch or two lower i could have broken several toes or other bones...if higher it could have screwed up my ankle bones or muscle. it didnt tear my skin so that was also a plus cuz the skin right there on top of your foot is more reseliant (sp?).

the large knot the size of a plum is much better today but my foot is very sore and i cant put on a shoe cuz the pain against the bone.

what a way to start the weekend. mother in law comes today...she is aware of my accident yesterday and understands if i dont do much. she is happy just to come and hang out here with us and just play cards. she is a sweet lady. we shall see what happens.
