Road trip...
yesterday we took a road trip across the Confederation bridge (at a cost of $40.50ca) to pick up mother in law from her stay in Fredrickton New Brunswick. we left early and had a nice drive listening to get music on our Sirus radio and the breeze blowing through our hair.....well....mine and kiddos.
first stop......TACO BELL! it was 11:30 by the time we got into town and it was lunch time so we hit one of the places we miss most from california. we dont have a taco bell here in the island so its a treat when we actually get it. very sad but true.
then we hit the mall. found lots of deals for kiddo. we were on a mission to find shorts for her to have for camp coming up. this one store had 3/4 of their store on sale....75% off! i bought a pair of short-pants normally $29 for $7 something. so she got those and 2 tshirts for $19. in all.....i got her 6 pairs of shorts/pedel pushers and 3 tops and a pair of socks for $68. not bad at all...i was happy.
we drove around town there and then headed off up the road 20 mins to pick up his mom. we then headed back into town for dinner to hit one more place we dont get on the island...Arby's. YUMMMM.
then our long drive home to drop her off on one part of the island and then back track it to head home our way. had a great day since me and hubby both have been reminecing (sp?) about our vacation last year and what we were doing on this date and time. we have been sad but then happy remembering all the fun we had on our road trip last year. we hope to do it again summer 2008.
today me and kiddo are going downtown to watch the Lobster Carnival parade. oh...its lobster carnival week here....i love this week here in town...so much to do and lots of things going on.
btw...last year on this date me and hubby dropped of kiddo at my ex-mother in laws place for her to visit and stay with for a couple days so me, hubby and my mom can go to vegas. oh how i miss those drives through the desert and the anticipation going over the last mountain and seeing vegas in the distance. *sigh*.
