Some things are free........

found something out yesterday after living here 4 years.

there is a place in town called The College of Piping that is all about Celtic Performing Arts. me and hubby went by there yesterday cuz neither of us have been in there and we were just tooling around. after browsing the shop and looking at all the heritage stuff (hubby is scottish) we started to chat with the nice women that worked there.

i asked her about the classes they offered there for kids and was curious about the cost...even though i was sure it was way too much for us. she asked if we lived in town and told us that the piping and snar drum classes for kids 8-18yrs were free...which also included the instruments (chanter or drum pad and sticks). i was shocked and had to have her explain this to me to hear it again.

there is a gentleman and his wife...Doug and Debbie Hall who set up a scholorship program for island kids (read more about them here...scroll down to 2nd paragraph). im still in shock that this couple is so dedicated to the kids and what music plays in the childs life. some people might have heard of this man...he is currently one of the judges on the reality show American Inventor .

after hearing all the stuff about the school and its program i am now wishing i was under 18 and had this great opportunity.

anyway...have a great weekend....its cloudy and drizzly here right now...a high of 6c today. have a few errands to run...but nothing much. going to watch new movie today sometime...Fun with dick and jane...well let you know how it is.

hugs to you
