I'm from CA, and that snow is making me shake, as in fear. I like to look at snow, not live in it--how do you do it? How can you go from sunny warm CA, ( I wore sandals today--I live 10 minutes away from Sacramento) to freezing cold? You must love him a lot. would your husband consider moving to CA?
hiya Michele/shellybien..nice of you to stop by and comment. you ask how i can go from sunny cali to the cold of atlantic canada. easy....my adorable husband and the want to change. being from southern california you never really experience "weather" and i wanted to know what it was like so i came here the first time in feb 2002 during a week that there were record cold temps. i had a great time...when i got off the plane it was snowing and i was like a kid standing at the end of the stairs in amazement for a moment before i walked in.
this is my 3rd winter here and so far each winter has been very different so im not sure what the "norm" is. i well say...i dont enjoy shovelling show too much...but its just something that has to be done. i dont mind driving in it. again...being from so. cal. you learn to drive defensively as well as agressively so thats a plus. even here people just dont know how to slow down when weather hits....lol so nothing different there.
when i lived in cali i wasnt a "beach" girl...and i loved the rainy overcast days with a temp of 55-60f being my favorite. so wanting cold wasnt something i was afraid of...i loved to wear sweaters and coats and having that extra blanket on the bed. i dreaded summers and the heat....from way back when i was a kid i hated the heat.
you asked if my hubby would ever consider moving to cali. if i wasnt able to move here for whatever reason he would have moved there. we both had/have good jobs. but really...it was much easier for me to move then him IMO.
but i wanted a new start on my life and needed a change. i had just gone through a very hard emotional divorce that went bad....not going to go into that. but anyway...i got full custody of my daughter and decided it was the best thing for both me and kiddo he (asshole) wasnt even in cali anymore to see his child. it was a big decision none the less. had time to think about it ...had my daughter finish out the school year there and then started to make my plans.
long story short.....its feb 2005 and me and my daughter are now permanent residence of canada. she is happy...loves winter. i havent been happily married like i am now in so many many years...i forgot what it was like to be in this much love with someone. he is my angel and i love him dearly.
i hope this kinda makes sense. hard to explain without all the major details i prefer not to go too much into on here.
hugs ...
