What a great day....PFFFT!
omg...what a way to start a day. first off....at about 4am this morning we were awakened to the power coming back on in the house. the power had been out for who knows how long. so...up i went to empty the bladder and to fill it back up again with water. finally got back to sleep ...oh...about 5am. then at 6am again...the power went off...and then back on again after 5 minutes. got back to sleep after about 15 minutes laying there. then the alarm went off at 7am....grrr.
turned on the radio to check if school was in today or not cuz the outages or the windchill. nothing said....so up i go to get the kid out of bed and into the bathroom we go to get dressed. at about 7:15am....they announced a 1hour delay for school....great....so i told the kiddo to go hang out in her room and play gameboy (the cable was out cuz of the power outages) so i can go back and laydown until 8:30am. as im falling back to sleep...i realized that she has to have her medicine at 8am...i asked hubby if he would do it for me and he did. he had a hard time getting her to take it as i do sometimes....she got in trouble and through all that i was awake listening to him and her argue (discuss) what was going on.
830 came...so i jumped into the shower quickly while he got dressed and ready for me to take him to work while she ate breakfast. the car wouldnt auto-start today...so we left to take him in a cold car. burrrrrrr.
got back home...ate some breakfast with the kiddo. broke out a tape i have of I Love Lucy episodes and watched some of that with her since cable was still out.
time to take her to school....got bundled up and went out to the car. IT WOULDNT START! OMFG! it was doing what it did to us over the weekend when we had to get towed. its just too damn cold and i think we got some condensation in the fuel whatever and it keeps freezing. i put some gas antifreeze stuff in after trying to start the car for 10minutes. NOTHING!
well crap....go back in the house and have her put on her snow pants...and we head out walking to her school. its really not that far...15 min walk...but with the windchill so low it seemed like 10 miles away. she got to school 10 mins late....i warmed up in the lobby for a bit...then trekked back. tried to start the car again when i got back and nothing.
had me some tea...and just sat in bed warming up. stressed out about the car and all that.
at about 11:30am i decided to go out and give it one more try. i turn the key and hmmm....the car started with no problem. MOTHER TRUCKER!!!!! omg i hate this car right now. i leave it running to just let the antifreeze stuff do its job...call hubby to let him know it started and decided i was going to go get my perscription i had to get for my doctor appointment tomorrow.
went to get my meds....left the car running while i went in and came back home. im so tired now from the stress and the cold. me legs are still cold to the bone from the walk.
im going out 30 mins before i have to pick up the kiddo from school to make sure it starts. if not i have time to start the walk.
