oh yeah.....
I forgot to mention my weekend....it was FUN FILLED! lol
mother inlaw was here for the weekend...she came in on the bus on friday from charlottetown. i unfortunately had to work friday night so no bingo for us that night. so her and hubby sat around watching tv and catching up chatter.
but saturday...hubby had to get a hair cut early in the morning...so off we went to do that. after lunch me and mother inlaw went to "meat" bingo. i won $15 on one of the mini games...then i won another $50 (should have been $100 but i had to split the prize with another person -2 winners) on the jackpot game. i was happy...covered me playing bingo that day and then some. wohoo!
came home...took hubby back to the same bar so he can play in a crib tournement. but his opponent didnt show up on time so he ended up running the darn thing. he was so looking forward to playing. my poor sweetie. but he was happy to have the steelers game on tv at the bar so he could see his team win...that made his evening.
when mother inlaw comes over for the weekend we are always able to go out for an evening. its so nice she does this for us. and we can come home whenever we want...not worring about what time the babysitter has to be home or how much its costing us to keep the sitter...lol
so just before the crib tourney was over i showed up there to hang out cuz right after that was over there was trivia. i myself...cabbed it down knowing i wanted to have some drinks to celebrate my permanent residency being completed.
had a great time at trivia. the host (good friend of ours) and hubby played a joke on me. when playing trivia sometimes there are pictures of things ....flags, symbols, celebrity highschool pics, ets to figure out....well....one of the celeb pics was ME! lol omg....i was so embarrassed to see my pic on the sheets that EVERYONE had at the table.
we came in 3rd place of i think 7 teams (give or take 1). but heres were things got special.
after the scores where read....the host mentioned my becoming "official" again to everyone and they had a cake for me. it was so nice....but what really topped it off was as they brought out the cake...someone in the bunch started to sing Oh Canada and everyone...i mean....everyone in the room stood up and was singing. i was so touched. i was on the verge of tears...but my embarrassment of it all kept me from sobbing. it was so so nice of them to do this for me. i well always remember that night. it sounds cheesy what they did...but i have to say it was very emotional for me as well as a few others that are good friends of ours. one of our friends gave me a box that had a pair of "canadian" bobby socks in it. they say canada on them and have the mapleleaf also. very stylish...lol
again...it was very special to me. i love this place and our friends. i dont realize sometimes how many good friends i have here until something like this happens. love you guys!
