It's official............

Honey....we're home! Today was the day! we (me, hubby and kiddo) drove to Charlottetown today for the signing of my immigration papers.

let me back up just a bit to explain about my last post. when i recieved my letter from head immigration office we were told it could take up to 3 months for the ch'town office to contact us for an appointment. we used to have someone there that answered a lot of questions for us but she retired and now the office doesnt take walk-in's anymore...you have to just make an appointment...blah blah blah.

My hubby was trying to find a phone number to talk to someone and find out when we can come in. well...he got one...called...and the woman there looked up my case...said she would print it all out and if we would like an appointment BEFORE christmas? what what what????? lol WOW! sure....!!! so an appointment was made then when she is telling me everything i need to bring i find out that we need to bring 2 more "application approved" photos....another cost yet again....but $40 more dollars is ok considering this is the end. this whole process has cost us just about $3,000.

So today....we (me and kiddo) are now permanent residence of Canada! its all official and complete. In 2007 im eligible to become a citizen of this great nation...and i plan on doing that as well. so then me and kiddo well have dual citizenship...wohoo!

I am proud to say...today...I AM CANADIAN!
