sunday night rambling
welp...school is back in session for yet another year. seemed like the first day it also all of a sudden changed to Fall *sigh*. busy busy first week of school...getting up earlier now everyday, getting the kiddo out of bed, making lunches for her and hubby. then off i take them both to school and work. right now im still working my evening hours at the store so after i drop them off i go do errands and then come home (this past week i didnt do much).
it was a stressfull week for me really....with kiddo starting with a new teacher and worrying about how that will effect her as well as the bullies she dealt with last year (one of which is in her class this year). all summer we were teaching her how to ignore someone and defend herself against someone like this kid. had one problem on friday with her hitting this boy....she said that he was "going" to hit her so she hit "him". so of course she got in trouble for starting it due to paranoia. had a talk with her teacher after school and then we talked to the kiddo about it over this weekend. im really hoping she adjusts this year.....she has a few problems but we are doing all we can do and also working with the school very closely.
the other reason i was stressed out is i got the call back letter to take one of tests for working at the tax center here in summerside. it was yesterday (saturday). i took the pre-test they have on line. did ok....found out where i needed to focus and also found what i was great at. talk about being nervous all week for this....i was a mess. i dont test well in any situation....im a great hard working and i love working under stress and time limits...but thats doing things that i know! omg.........the math stuff was insane that was on the test. during that part i almost put down my pencil and gave up and was just about in tears (that was only the 2nd of 5 parts too!). over all with how i feel i did.......i know i passed it....but by how much im not sure. put it this way......of the 15 math problems i know for sure i got 4 of the right....lol
now the waiting game for the results to come back and also see if my qualifications also get me into the other tests that they are having. omg another test and more nervous-sleepless nights!!!
cant wait to start working day shift again while i have this job. its so nice i can work while my kid is in school and then be home after to help with homework and spend time. but once they do the hiring at the tax center (probably starting in feb 2005) i would pick her up from school...spend time with her (as i do in the mornings -- i make sure we have lots of time and not rush mornings), then after hubby gets off work....i then go into work for the evening shift. it will suck at first...but have to do what you have to do. it will be for only 3-6 months anyways at a time from what i hear...so thats not so bad.
besides....for us to take our road trip in the summer we have to make some extra money somewhere...and this job couldnt be better. plus......i did pretty much the same job for 13yrs before i came here...so im used to it.
anywho..............take care everyone and hugs,
talk to you again soon
