cost of going back to school
oh my gosh.....its so exspensive to send the kids back to school. between getting the supplies the school requires and some new clothes im officially broke. not to mention the registration fee and new uniform cost that will be coming my way end of september for girl guides. grrrrrrrr!!!!
We went into ch'town on tuesday to see what we could find at value village. wow is all i have to say on this trip. got my daughter 5 pairs of pants (4 like new, 1 new with tags still) and 2 hoddy vest jackets (brand new), 3 books, dress (like new for halloween), and a winter coats for hubby that looked never worn. it all came to $70 some dollars...but we had a 30% off that....so we only paid $50 and some change. i walked away in shock how much i got and the quality of the items i found. today we went to zellers and bought the kiddo a few tops for school...4 tops (all $14 each)......with tax......$64....OMFG! then we went to walmart and got her 2 more tops....$25. school shopping sucks...so every little bit it can get for a great price is a help.
found a couple good deals today on shoes....went to zellers first and found her a pair of red shoes for $5 on clearence...but found nothing else that we liked or fit our pocket book. then to payless we went....hmmm...their prices are sure higher now then i remember back in the states. they used to cheaper then going to Target or walmart most of the time....so we didnt get anything there. off to walmart we went to find some sneakers. she wanted some of those black casual shoes all the kids are wearing these days (same shoe basicly at all 3 stores....payless:$30, zellers:$20, walmart$16)...so guess where we got them? while at walmart we also got a pair of sneakers $6 (only cuz there was a flaw in it and the only ones in her size so we got a discount).
oh.....we got all her school supplies at Staples...most everything we needed was on sale and got everything we needed in one stop shopping.
so much for my exciting day..........lol wohooo!!!!!
school countdown: 5 sleeps!!!
