Camp Day for Kiddo
Excitement was in the air last night. the kiddo was all ready for camp and couldnt wait. knowing we had to get up early today she got to be right when i got home from work just after 10pm. I was so tired last night from work having had somewhat a busy night at the store...i was past tired....had a hard time going to sleep. both me and hubby were playing tag team sleeping......he would snore and wake me up...and he said i would do the same to him......lol neither of us got much sleep last night.
wake up time............6:30am! have a hour to get us all up, showered, dressed and fed. car is packed with her stuff and off we go at 7:30'ish A.M.. the drive was rainy as we got closer to Charlottetown....in fact...i was pouring when we got into town to pick up grandma who is going with us to drop off the kiddo.
oh...........had to stop at walmart cuz of course ...something was forgotten at home so we had to stop and get it.
CAMP!!! amazing how camp has changed since "we" all went to camp (prior to the 80's...lol). big screen tv in the big rec room, karoke machine, computer room...omg! she went here last year and had a great time and she wanted to go back. so....since she enjoyed it so much we enrolled her again this year. she was none stop talking when she got there.....there was a counsellor that remembered her from last year getting thing off to a great start. got her stuff all situated with her stuff...she picked out her bunk. she gave us our big hugs and kisses and then ignored us basicly telling us......"ok...time for you to go now".........lol
funny how when you pass other parents coming down the road that just dropped off a child they are smiling. hubby was laughing saying that they already had a bottle of whatever waiting for when they get home for "their" vacation just like us.......lol
welp.............12 hours since we left here there.....and out came my mouth already.........not even 24 flippin hours has she been gone............"wonder how she is doing?". im such a worry mom. its hard not to have some contact with her even when she is gone over night somewhere. thought i would be all excited to have MY time for 5 nights and im already asking about her and wonder what she is doing?
my day so far.......lol......well.........after dropping her off at camp....we went to the confederation mall to walk around a bit...bought a new "bathroom readers" book (if you never read these...they are fun to read). then we went out to lunch at Out of Africa (for the first time)...it was really good. we had the special....chicken, rice, chickpeas, veggie stuff. it was curry spiced (sweet but spicy)...to some not used to spicy food it might be too much...but it was very good. we were stuffed after that and started our drive home back to Summerside. on the way home as always joke about going to see the "gouda cheese lady".....lol this time we did. it was very cool. you can see them making the cheese and see the room where they let it age. there is also a video to watch if you have never been there. you can sample all the different flavors of cheese they have and of course buy. knowing how much we looooooove cheese we didnt leave there without buying something. we brought home a wedge of herb/garlic and onion/red pepper. both mild versions...cost us about $11.00 total. well worth the price though.
came home......played some games on Pogo for a bit then took me a 4 hour nap......lol some day huh?
now we are just hanging out after some dinner. going to watch big brother5 and amazing race tonight on tv.
hmmm.......wonder what she is doing right now? hope she is listening to them and not causing any problems. *sigh* and here some days she drives me just nuts....i miss her already.
